Instead of sewing the material together, it can be joined by welding. Welding can be done with hot air, heat wedge or ultrasound. Ultrasonic welding or gluing with ultrasound provides a strong and very durable joint and is especially suitable when you want to avoid holes after a sewing machine needle. Industries where welding of materials are used include awning seam, blind manufacturing, sails, chapels, filters and non-woven materials. Welding is also used to seal seams with tape on waterproof and water resistant materials, such as rainwear, outerwear, tents, etc.

Sewing thread for Technical Textile/Sun protection

Our industrial sewing thread comes from A&E (American & Efird) and is available in different grades and roughs. A&E is one of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors of sewing thread of the highest quality. A&E Filan is a polyester sewing thread made of twisted multifilament for sewing, for example, filters, theotextiles and other outdoor products. A&E Perma Core is a sewing thread made entirely of polyester for general sewing of both light and heavy materials.
